The rest is still unwritten...

Chris Brogan wrote a blog post today that really made me stop and think - he recommended the book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Don Miller.  The book tells the story of a man's transformation from couch potato to active cyclist and emphasize the importance of seeing you life like a story.  I would love to read the book, and Chris is giving away some free copies - so what better excuse to share my thought's on life stories than now! Chris, and readers, enjoy!

Not everyone has the chance to be a superhero, or celebrity or truly even shine in their 15 minutes of fame, but what most people forget is that they hold the leading role in their own life story.  The best part is, you can alter the story through decisions you make, and document the ups and downs of the roller coaster ride of life.  If you could look back and read your life story so far, would you enjoy it? I'm sure not one of us could say we'd be completely satisfied, but it is the twists and turns that in the end, make it a great book.  We can't flip to the last page and ruin the ending for ourselves or others, which makes it even more suspenseful to read...and write. In the end I think we all end up on the best sellers list of the big man upstairs - my hope is that I will be proud to sign copies, see my name on the cover and feel good about passing on my story for others to learn from and enjoy.

For inspiration I enjoy Natasha Bedingfield's song, Unwritten

"Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find"

Life is short...make each page count!
