Concert Season

October has been quite the month of country concerts for me! I figured I would do a quick roundup of each artist and my favorite song of theirs, and maybe even pull out my favorite lyric or two. Enjoy!

Little Big Town

You got someone here wants to make it alright
Someone who loves you more than life right here

Sugarland

Slow to trust, but I'm quick to love,
I wish too hard, and I give too much,
I ain't sayin' I'm perfect,
But I promise I'm worth it.

Eric Church

When she's yours she brings the sunshine
When she's gone the world goes dark
Yeah, she's heaven on the eyes
But boy she's hell on the heart, yeah

Miranda Lambert

'Cause every last one, route one, rural heart's
Got a story to tell
Every grandma, in-law, ex-girlfriend
Maybe knows it just a little too well

Easton Corbin

All the night life and the beaches
Couldn’t soothe my achin’ soul
And how I ended up in Key West
God and the liquor only know

Gloriana

Ain’t that the way it goes,
Always stumbling into something,
Life’s an open road,
You gotta take it,
If you just let go,
Lose your way to find that one thing
You’ve been missing…
You almost missed it all

Caramel Apple Craving

Happy Caramel Apple Day!

This comes at the perfect time since I was craving and oh-so-tempted to get a caramel apple last night when I was at the fair (round 2, I managed to only eat a corn dog!)  They just look so yummy and seasonal.

Luckily I woke up this morning to an inspiring e-mail from Hungry Girl providing a great alternative to the high cal. apples that were calling my name at the fair.  She provides two recipes, one for caramel apple pancakes and one for a deconstructed candy apple (lets be honest they ARE one of the most awkward foods to try to eat!)  Personally, I hope to try the deconstructed version ASAP! Thinking about switching out coconut for cinnamon.....

Deconstructed Caramel-icious Candy Apple
Ingredients:
1 apple (preferably Fuji), cored and thinly sliced
1 tbsp. fat-free or light caramel dip (like the kinds by Marzetti), room temperature
1 1/2 tsp. crushed dry-roasted peanuts
1 tsp. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. shredded sweetened coconut

Directions:
Put apple slices in a bowl. Drizzle with caramel dip. Evenly sprinkle with remaining ingredients. Dig in!

You are beautiful!

Operation_beautiful
I am newly obsessed with a mission that incorporates two of my favorite things: sticky notes and inspirational quotes!  As you know here on my blog I often post some of my favorite quotes and words of wisdom, so when I stumbled across Operation Beautiful I fell in love.

Operation Beautiful encourages women everywhere to post inspirational notes in random public places in hopes that the person who happens to see the note is encouraged to have a more positive self-image and in turn, spread the word to others.

I don't know about you, but a little note of encouragement can make a bad day seem a little brighter (hence my love of sticky notes!)

On the site you can share stories about notes you posted or found.  Being the social media nerd that I am I love that they are on Twitter (BeautifulNotes) and even have a hashtag #mirrormantras where you can post your own daily motivators.

I'm already scheming about where I can leave a few notes...staytuned, I'll be sure to report back!

In the mean time, spread the word and stay beautiful!
